Not so Indian~Salad!

Salads can add a shine to your  entire Menu !

I included this in our saturday night meal and it was the dazzling star on my dinner table !

The ingredients that you need for making this Salad are:

  • 1 onion-ring shaped (Any shape you want to give them)
  • 2 tomatoes
  • 1 cucumber, sliced
  • 1 green chilli, deseeded and finely chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves, finely chopped
  • 2 tbsp white vinegar
  • 1 tsp powdered sugar


Pour boiling water over the onion and leave it for 5 mins,you can also put them in ice cold water.

Arrange the tomatoes and cucumber on a plate, then scatter over the drained onions.

Crush chilli and cloves together and dip them in vinegar for 5 minutes.Mix sugar and season with salt. Drizzle over the salad just before serving.

This can be prepared and chilled up to 1 hr ahead, but dress just before serving.

If you don’t want to have onions,you can replace them with any other veggie or fruit you like.Remove onions and add blueberry or grapes to this.

I think Salad is one of the necessary item that should be in your meal.It’s nutrious and can add to any boring or not so happening meal 😎

This is different from the tomato onion salad I used to make before because of the vinegar and  onion cloves.It adds that tangy taste to the salad and makes it sweet sour taste.

Good that I tried something different -Not so Indian 😃
